PHP Authentication Plugin is an optional plugin for Password Sentry. Password Sentry per se does not protect against dictionary / brute force attacks, where hackers try to guess or crack passwords. However, we have created a plugin for Password Sentry that does provide such protection: [PHP Authentication Plugin]. Core Functions

Login Analyzer

Logins are subjected to detailed analysis via three(3) routines: (1) IP_Checker, (2) ISP_Checker, and (3) GeoTracking_Checker. These algorithms ensure that password sharing is detected, and eliminates false suspensions.

Brute Force Protection

By default, the plugin protects your secure area from brute force and dictionary attacks using a number of methods. Such attacks can be very costly in terms of bandwidth, and lost sales revenue (as these attacks can often overload the web server, and take your site offline). By blocking these attacks, you greatly reduce the odds that a legitimate members password will be guessed by others.

Interlinking

Interlinking module allows you to grant access from another secure area on one domain using the plugin to the secure area on another domain also using the plugin. Interlinking sites can be on the same server or different servers. This enhanced function allows for crossdomain secure areas sharing. Members of one site can access the members area of another site, and vice versa. The interlinking can be one-way or two-way. GREAT cross-promotional tool. This function has become VERY popular with many of our adult paysite clients who apply it in partnership with other sites to give themselves a competitive edge in these difficult times.

Proxy Checker

Proxy Checker checks login IPs for open and anonymous proxies. Such proxies are often exploited by password sharers as a means to avoid detection. By blocking access by open and anonymous proxy IPs, you have closed the door to surfers using the same IP address to gain entry. But at the same time, not deny access to those (like AOL users) using legitimate proxies! Proxy Checker can be configured, and disabled/enabled.

Video Player

Video Player module circumvents the issue most form-based authentication systems are vulnerable: not being able to serve videos within the secure area. This module overcomes that issue, and serves videos in a secure manner.

PS Admin Intergrated

The plugin is fully integrated into Passsword Sentry. All plugin data including IP and password suspensions can be viewed and managed via the web-based Password Sentry Admin Control Panel.

CMS Integration

We provide simple instructions to integrate the plugin into the CMS application, Drupal. Once integrated, your can monitor Drupal logins, and block password sharing. However, we can (at no additional cost) integrate the PS plugin in any other CMS application or other application that uses form-based authentication. None of our competitors provide this!
