Web 2.0

Web 2.0 is the second stage of development of the World Wide Web, characterized especially by the change from static web pages to dynamic or user-generated content and the growth of social media.

Webring is a series of websites linked together in a "ring" that by clicking through all of the sites in the ring the visitor will eventually come back to the originating site. All of the sites within the ring share a similar topic or purpose.

Whitelist

A whitelist is a list or register of entities that are being provided a particular privilege, service, mobility, access or recognition. Entities on the list will be accepted, approved and/or recognized. Whitelisting is the reverse of blacklisting, the practice of identifying entities that are denied, unrecognized, or ostracized. Whitelists are commonly applied to email addresses and IP addresses. In the case of email address whitelists, emails not in the whitelist are ignored or flagged as spam. In the case of IP address whitelists, IP's not in the whitelist are unable to gain access to the server.

WhoIs is a query and response protocol that is widely used for querying databases that store the registered users or assignees of an Internet resource, such as a domain name, an IP address block, or an autonomous system, but is also used for a wider range of other information.
