What is this? This is a QR Code: a machine-readable image-based code consisting of black and white squares. QR Codes are typically used for storing URLs and other information for reading by a smart devices like smart phones.
When scanned by an appropriate app on your mobile device, you are redirected to the embedded URL of this page. View this page with one device (desktop or another mobile device), and then scan the
QR Code with your mobile device. This makes it quicker and easier to browse a page discovered on one device on your mobile device without manually entering the URL in the mobile device browser address bar.
⚬ If you are using an Android phone, you can find a QR Code reading app at Google Play on your device.
⚬ If you are using an iOS device (iPhone, iPad, etc.), you can find a QR Code reading app at the Apple iTunes App Store on your device.
⚬ If you are using a Windows phone, you can find a QR Code reading app at the Microsoft Store on your device.
We have released the FREE version of Password Sentry. The FREE version has most of the features and functionality of the PAID version with the following exceptions:
No ProxyVPN (PVPN) plugin. No AuthForm (AF) plugin. No InterLinking (IL) plugin. No BandwidthMonitor (BM) plugin. No user suspensions, but you are alerted (email and/or text message) when password sharing is detected.
The FREE version allows people to try out our app on their server to get a feel of how Password Sentry works. If and when you wish to upgrade to the PAID version, it's just a matter of
purchasing a PS license, and then upgrading via the web-based PS AdminCP to convert from the FREE version to the PAID version.

Installation
Installation is quick and easy using our web-based Installer app which is included in the ZIP distribution file you download. If the Installer app fails, you can use the Manual
Installation method. However, we recommend you Contact Us instead so we can try to resolve the issue since the
Auto Installation method is much quicker and easier.
Auto Installation
1. Via your web hosting control panel (e.g., cPanel) or your web host, create a NEW database for PS. You will require database host (usually localhost), database name, database username, and
database password to input to the Installer app.
2. Via FTP, created a new folder on your web server in the public root (e.g., public_html). Name it something unique and random. Via FTP, chmod the folder as 777 (rwxrwxrwx). When installation / upgrade complete,
chmod the folder back to what it was: usually 755 (rwxr-xr-x).
3. Extract ps8.zip to your computer in a new folder (e.g., named as ps). All the PS files are there. However, all you need to do is to upload the installer.php file to the PS folder
you created on your server in Step 2.
4. Now you MUST run the Installer app (installer.php file). Enter the URL to installer.php in your browser address bar. Run the app. The app will install the PS files and update the database
you created in Step 1.
5. Via your web browser, visit your PS AdminCP to make sure it is operating properly. If not, Contact Us.
We suggest you take a few days to explore and become acquainted with PS before you enable PS: layout, look and feel, and functionality.
6. If everything is okay, then you can enable PS. Via your PS AdminCP :: Preferences, configure PS. Most settings can be taken from your previous PS installation (via its web-based PS Admin).
Once done, now it is time to implement PS tracking via PS AdminCP :: Manage HTACCESS. Then, insert the PS Rewrite lines.
7. Check by logging in to your members area using a new browser session. If you receive error(s) or have issues(s), do this:
Delete the PS Rewrite lines from your members.htaccess file.
1. Via your web hosting control panel (e.g., cPanel) or your web host, create a NEW database for PS. You will require database host (usually localhost), database name, database username, and
database password to enter into the config.php file.
2. Via FTP, created a new folder on your web server in the public root (e.g., public_html). Name it something unique and random.
3. Extract ps8.zip to your computer in a new folder (e.g., named as ps). All the PS files are there. Upload (in Auto or Binary FTP mode: not ASCII mode) to the PS folder you created on your
server in Step 2.
4. Chmod the following folders as 777 (rwxrwxrwx):
DB_HOST: Database Host (default and usual is localhost) DB_NAME: Database Name DB_USER: Database Username DB_PASS: Database Password DB_PREF: Database Prefix. Default Database Prefix is PS_. The prefix is used for the database table names the Installer creates. For example, if you define as SENTRY_, PS_LOGIN_LOG is named as
SENTRY_LOGIN_LOG when the Installer creates the table. Prefixes are especially important in the case of multi-tenant applications (those sharing one database) to avoid name conflicts.
You must use unique prefixes if two or more instances of Password Sentry use the same database: where each is assigned an unique prefix. Prefix can only consist of letters and numbers,
and must end with an underscore character (_). PS_URL: Full URL to PS installation folder PS_PATH: Full server path to PS installation folder PS_DOMAIN: Domain (yourdomain.com)
6. You now need to edit your database using an app like phpMyAdmin (through your hosting control panel like cPanel). Import the /admincp/common/install.sql file. Note that thise file uses
PS_ as database prefix. If you entered something different in the config.php file, then you need to edit the install.sql file first. For example, if you entered SENTRY_ as database prefix in
config.php, then edit install.sql by changing all incidences of PS_ to SENTRY_. One last thing to do is to populate the PS_ADMINS table to add yourself as admin so you can access the
PS Admin. Execute the following query via phpMyAdmin:
Admin User: admin Admin Pass: adminpass
After you login to your PS AdminCP using the above login credentials, you need to change your Admin Pass via PS AdminCP :: System :: Manage Admins :: Edit Admin
7. Via your web browser, visit your PS AdminCP to make sure it is operating properly. If not, Contact Us.
We suggest you take a few days to explore and become acquainted with PS before you enable PS: layout, look and feel, and functionality.
8. If everything is okay, then you can enable PS. Via your PS AdminCP :: Preferences, configure PS. Most settings can be taken from your previous PS installation (via its web-based PS Admin).
