Does Password Sentry work with passwords stored in database format?

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Password Sentry work with passwords stored in database format?
Yes. Password Sentry works with passwords stored in file format (e.g., .htpasswd), database format (MySQL), and DBM format.

You can select from a  variety of built-in encryption schemes: Clear Text (Unencrypted), Standard Unix DES-Based, MD5, and SHA1. Using an encryption scheme not included in the list? Contact us. We can add it in at no charge to you (free). Plus, we can roll it out in an update same day - and then you can update via your web-based PS Admin Control Panel.

Regardless of how your passwords are stored, and how the passwords are encrypted, Password Sentry will function fully. Few, if any, of our competitors can say the same. We strive to make Password Sentry all things to all people.
